Advance Water Proofing Coating - UN1ON WP-60

UN1ON WP-60 is a multifunctional polymer emulsion for enhancing the properties of cement slurry or mortar. It provides a good adhesion, water resistance and improvement of several other properties.

Properties:

• Appearance - Milky white liquid

Surface Preparation:

• Clean the surface with wire brush or scrubber to remove hidden dirt, loose particles, laitance & dust. Degrease the surface by using suitable solvents.
• Repair the spalled concrete portion by saw, cutting the extreme edges of the repair location to a
  depth of at least 10 mm to avoid featheredging & to provide strong bond.
• Clean the concrete surface to remove any contamination where breaking is not possible. Roughen the surface by light scrabbling or grit blasting.
• For priming of concrete substrate, the surface should be thoroughly saturated with potable water. Remove any excess of water prior to application.

Waterproofing Coating:

• Thoroughly pre-wet the prepared substrate (2 hours recommended) before application. Keep the surface wet and do not allow to dry. Before application remove excess water, e.g. with a clean sponge. The surface must appear to be of homogeneous color with matt finish appearance without shining and surface pores and cavities must not contain water.
• For a waterproofing coating Mix UN1ON BOND & Cement in the ratio 1:1 by volume.
• Apply the first coat of UN1ON BOND coating with a hard bristled brush applied in the same
  direction and leave to harden for 4 to 6 hours depending on temperature, humidity and ventilation
• Wherever coating is to be reinforced with UN1ON Fabric-70 into the freshly applied base coat and embed firmly into the wet coat with brush.
• Apply the second coat of UN1ON BOND coating in crosswise direction to the first application as
  soon as first coat has hardened. NOTE: If the second coat is applied 12 hours or later to first coat, the first coat shall be slightly pre-wetted by using a fine spray.
• Protect with screed on top for longer life.
• IMPORTANT Slight fabric marks may be visible after application of the second coat, but it will have no adverse bearing on the performance of the waterproofing system. Apply third coat wherever necessary.

Bonding Primer:

• For a bonding primer coat of UN1ON BOND & Cement in the ratio 1:1 by volume.
• Brush apply 1 continuous coat of the mix on the prepared concrete substrate
• Ensure to overlay the repair mortar when the bond coat is still tacky.

Repair Mortars & Renders:

A suitable mix ratio for patching repair mortar or render is as follows:
Mix design - Portland Cement: 50 kg, washed sand: 150 kg, UN1ON BOND: 6-7.5 kg & Water: 10 Lit

Floor Screeds & Pcc:

A suitable mix ratio for patching repair mortar or render is as follows:
Mix design - Portland Cement: 50 kg, washed sand: 75 kg, 6 mm downsize aggregates: 75 kg, UN1ON
BOND: 6-7.5 kg & Water: 10 Lit

Mixing:

• Pour required quantity of product into a suitable mixing container.
• While stirring slowly, add the cement or cement sand mix to the product and mix thoroughly until a smooth, uniform and lump-free mix is achieved.
• Within the mixing time add additional product to adjust to the desired consistency. Mix with a
  mechanical paddle mixer at 300-500 rpm for not more than 2- 3 minutes.

Cleaning:

Clean all tools and application equipment with clean water immediately after use. Hardened or cured
material can only be removed mechanically. Wash hands with soap & warm water.

Dosage:

• As a waterproofing coating – Mix proportion by volume 1:1 (UN1ON BOND: Cement)
• As a mortar modifier – 10-15 % of UN1ON BOND by weight of cement.
• As a bonding agent – Mix proportion by volume; 1:1 (UN1ON BOND: Cement).

Coverage:

•  As a waterproofing coating - 2 – 2.2 m2/kg in 2 coats.
• As a mortar modifier – 6-7.5 kg of UN1ON BOND per 50 kg of cement.
• As a bonding agent – 4.2 – 4.5 m2/kg per coat.

Precautions & Limitations:

• Recommended dosage to be followed to achieve desired results.
• When working in hot temperature conditions, extra water may be added to the repair mortar to
  compensate for the evaporation loss & make the mortar workable.

Health & Safety Precautions:

• Cementitious mortars & slurries modified with UN1ON BOND when mixed or when become damp, may release alkali which can be harmful to skin & eye.
• Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves, eye protection and respiratory protective equipment
  during application.
• In case of contact with skin, rinse with plenty of clean water and then cleanse with soap water.
• In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical advice.

Packing:

• Packing available: 1 KG ,5 KG & 20 KG

Storage:

12 months from the date of production. Store the material in cool and dry place. Keep away from direct sunlight and heat.
